From eye creams to serums to moisturizers to masks, where does one even start? Determined to make it as easy as possible, we did some research, talked to some experts and laid it all out for you concern by concern and solution by solution. We've covered the big guys below, but feel free to leave any questions in the comments if you feel like we missed anything or just need to know more!

Skincare Ingredient

Skincare Ingredient Gensing Sunday Riley Autocorrect

If you suffer from dark under eye circles and/or puffiness, meet your new best friend gensing. It's been used for more than 4,000 years in Chinese medicine thanks to it's highly effective antioxidant properties that stimulate blood circulation, thereby minimizing dark circles and puffiness when applied topically. One ingredient to tackle the task of brightening and depuffing? Yes, please.

Skincare Retinol

It's no secret that Retinol is a powerhouse ingredient when it comes to skincare. But how does it actually work? When asked about Retinol, our Store Manager (and resident skincare guru), Brandon said it "increases production of new fibers and essential components of the extracellular matrix such as collagean, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, which fills in deep wrinkles and increases the skin's ability to retain water." To the rest of us that means it helps minimize wrinkles and makes skin appear smoother and brighter. And luckily there are plenty of ways to work it into your skincare routine. From eye creams to serums to moisturizers to peels, you can definitely find your retinol soul mate.

Skincare Hyaluronic Acid

A lack of proper hydration makes skin look dry and dull and makes lines and wrinkles more visible. Bummer, right? Enter, Hyaluronic Acid. This moisture-attracting-and-retaining acid can hold up to 1,000 times it's weight in water and, when applied topically to the skin, visibly achieves a filling effect that minimizes fine lines and wrinkles. As we age the levels of Hyaluronic Acid that occur naturally in our bodies decrease, but thankfully we can replenish it with the right topically-applied skincare products.

Unfortunately clogged pores and occasional breakouts aren't just a problem for teens. Many of us deal with these issues well into our 30s and 40s. Fortunately, Salicylic Acid fights clogged pores, blackheads and whiteheads very well. It helps to balance and restore normal oil and water levels in the skin, exfoliating and unclogging pores, and ultimately keeping the skin free of blackheads.
